Marcia Reed is the donor services manager for the Santa Barbara City College Foundation.

A native from California’s Central Valley, Marcia came to Santa Barbara to attend UC Santa Barbara in 1969. After completing postgraduate work in the Bay Area, Marcia spent a decade in the field of elementary education before returning to Santa Barbara in 1984.

While raising her two daughters, Marcia held positions in training, and development and marketing in the local banking industry. She served as the vice president of the Santa Barbara Region Chamber of Commerce for 20 years, and is the former executive director of the Santa Barbara Book & Author Festival.

Marcia believes that involvement and service are key to her community’s success. She has served as a board member for Casa Serena and Women’s Recovery Homes, and was the president for both the Cold Spring School and Santa Barbara Junior High School parent associations. A longtime volunteer, Marcia has given her time to Partners in Education; Santa Barbara Performing Arts League; Santa Barbara Summer Solstice; First Night Santa Barbara; Old Spanish Days Fiesta; Transition House Casablanca Ball; Bishop Diego Annual Auction; Cancer Center Annual Gala; Go Red For Women Luncheon Committee/Heart Association; Unity Shoppe Telethon and Fund Development Committees; Santa Barbara International Film Festival; Santa Barbara High School Theatre Development; and Odyssey of the Mind.

Marcia is married to local Unity Shoppe Executive Director Tom Reed. They are kept busy and happy with two adult daughters and three grandchildren.
