Carola Nicholson is a Certified Public Accountant who moved to Santa Barbara in 1980. For 10 years, she worked in San Francisco at one of the largest accounting firms in the nation – Ernst & Young – as a Senior Accounting Manager and later as New Business Development Director.

Since 2000, Ms. Nicholson has built a private practice in Santa Barbara and founded Nicholson & Schwartz in 2004. She specializes in tax consulting and preparation for individuals, non-profits and corporations, with an emphasis on small business financial management.

Carola received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and her masters in taxation from Golden Gate University. She believes strongly in giving back to her community. She currently serves on the boards for the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation, and the Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara. Carola is also a past member of the Santa Barbara County Advisory Board on Alcohol and Drug Problems, Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV), Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, the Santa Barbara Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Santa Barbara Symphony League.
