In spring 2025, Kaylee Bosetti earned an Associate in Science for Transfer degree in Biology at Santa Barbara City College. In the fall, she begins the next chapter of her academic journey at UCLA.

Kaylee received the 2025–2026 President’s Scholarship—one of the SBCC Foundation’s most prestigious awards. This honor is reserved for an exceptional student who demonstrates academic excellence, service, leadership, resilience, and great promise for the future.

“This scholarship brings hope and brightness to my life,” Kaylee said. “It will ease the financial burden of tuition, housing, and supplies, allowing me to focus on my studies rather than how I will afford them. It has also provided me with great confidence. I feel reassured about having pursued my education, despite the hearing impairment that I was born with. I have pushed through negativity, bullies, and insecurities about my disability to become a successful collegiate student athlete, a biology major, a future UCLA Bruin, and the recipient of this prestigious scholarship.”

Kaylee’s journey at SBCC was transformative. She thrived in her coursework, contributed to her team during women’s basketball playoffs, developed lasting friendships in the lab, and received steady support from dedicated counselors.

“I am beyond grateful for the time and memories that SBCC provided me,” Kaylee says. “My experience at the college was more than I could have asked for!”
